“We are excited about the opportunities that Glide Education can offer us regarding flexibility and stability on so many different levels,” said the Assistant Superintendent of the Wilson County School System, Craig Hill. “The ability to infuse video content and other media and move seamlessly through a variety of communication venues makes Glide a platform that has limitless applications. We see it as having the possibility to expand our virtual education opportunities and as an integral part of our continuous technology plans.”
“We look forward to working with Wilson County Schools and having the opportunity to showcase the benefits that the Glide Education service provides,” said Glide Education Chairman and CEO, Donald Leka. “Unlike its competitors, Glide Education is not tied to any particular server type, desktop OS, mobile device or application suite. Glide’s support for all major platforms, automated device recognition and real-time file translation creates a cost effective and flexible alternative to standardizing on a proprietary server-software-cloud platform.”
Glide Education provides support for all major platforms, over 250 different file formats and over 100 mobile phones that makes it possible to dramatically reduce the cost of replacing hardware and upgrading software in school systems and bring greater flexibility and mobility to student learning, teacher training, school administration and parent participation. “There is no need to purchase new servers, computers or mobile phones and no need to standardize on a particular OS or software suite. Glide leverages the existing hardware in a school system and automatically translates files between leading software applications and devices for seamless collaboration,” said Mr. Leka.
Glide provides a granular access rights system to control user access to files, data and applications across platforms. Rights can be granted to students, teachers, school administrators and parents and customized based on grade level, school zones, school requirements, teacher preferences and other variables. Glide’s file tracking system provides information on all locations of a file and everyone who has access rights with the ability to revoke access.
The Glide Education platform licenses certain components from TransMedia’s award wining cross platform technology, Glide OS http://www.GlideOS.com and supports all major platforms including Windows, Mac, Linux, Solaris, Android, BlackBerry, iPhone, Palm Pre, Symbian and Windows Mobile and over 100 mobile devices.

“Education lies at the core of civilization and human progress and is the foundation on which all of our national strengths and aspirations rest. Yet judging by comparative test scores in key subjects such as mathematics and science, students in the U.S. appear to be falling behind the competencies exhibited by children in many other countries. This threatens our long run rate of economic growth and our freedom. Spending more money is not the solution. The money that is spent on education must be more efficiently and productively deployed through applications of new technologies such as those being developed and implemented by Glide Education.”
